Albion Online's Rogue Frontier update: Smugglers, new weapons, and more!
Sandbox Interactive's medieval fantasy MMORPG, Albion Online, is set to receive its next major update, Rogue Frontier, on February 3rd. This first major update of the year introduces a host of exciting new features.
Life in the Outlands
Rogue Frontier focuses on the Smugglers, a rebellious group defying the Royal Continent's strict laws and establishing themselves in the Outlands. They operate from hidden underground bases known as Smuggler's Dens, serving as central hubs for banking, repairs, and mission planning. These dens are interconnected via the Smuggler's Network, a sophisticated marketplace system spanning the Outlands.
Players can actively participate in the Smugglers' ongoing conflict with the Royal Guards. Assist the Smugglers by rescuing captured members or delivering contraband within Smuggler Crates.
Rewards for Loyalty
Maggy Slade, a mysterious trader found within the dens, offers valuable rewards for player loyalty. These include the Smuggler's Vanity Set, a Smuggler's Cape (featuring a potion cooldown reduction ability), a Smuggler's Ring, and an Avatar.
The update also introduces Kill Trophies, dropped by defeated players. The quality of the defeated player's loot directly impacts the chance of obtaining a trophy.
New Weapons and Gear
Rogue Frontier adds stylish new weaponry to Albion Online. The Rotcaller Staff summons a chilling mist to repel enemies, the Skystrider Bow allows aerial attacks from a levitated position, and the Forcepulse Bracers unleash shockwaves during dashes.
