Rainbow Six Siege, now in its tenth year, is stepping into a bold new chapter. In today’s showcase, Ubisoft unveiled Siege X, a reimagined version of the tactical shooter that aims to redefine the experience—much like how CS2 evolved from CS:GO.
Scheduled for release on June 10, Siege X will also transition the game into a free-to-play model, making it accessible to all players.
Major Updates in Siege X:
New Game Mode: Dual Front
This 6v6 format blends both attack and defense elements within a single round. The objective? Capture enemy zones and plant sabotage devices. Matches take place across a dynamic map layout featuring three team-specific zones per side and one large neutral area. Additionally, players will respawn after 30 seconds upon elimination, keeping the action continuous.
Advanced Rappel System
Gone are the days of limited movement—players can now rappel both vertically and horizontally, offering greater tactical flexibility and creative entry points.
Increased Environmental Destruction
The trailer teased a more interactive battlefield, showcasing new destructible objects such as fire extinguishers and gas pipes. These additions open up fresh strategies and chaos-inducing opportunities.
Map Reworks
Five of the most popular maps are receiving substantial updates, ensuring a refreshed and balanced gameplay experience.
Graphical & Audio Enhancements
Ubisoft is delivering a major visual overhaul alongside enhanced audio design, immersing players deeper into the world of Siege.
Improved Anti-Cheat & Toxicity Measures
To foster a healthier community, developers are doubling down on anti-cheat improvements and tools to reduce toxic behavior.
Additionally, a closed beta will be available over the next seven days, with access granted to those who tune into Siege-themed streams.
