Insomniac Games, renowned for the Ratchet & Clank franchise, has signaled its interest in further game-to-screen adaptations. This revelation emerged from a recent Variety interview with co-Studio Head Ryan Schneider, following the announcement of founder and CEO Ted Price's retirement.

Schneider expressed enthusiasm for future film projects, specifically referencing the 2016 Ratchet & Clank movie. While acknowledging the mixed reception of the first film, the studio is optimistic, particularly given Sony's successful track record in video game adaptations, exemplified by the critically acclaimed The Last of Us series. The acquisition of Insomniac by Sony in 2019 further bolsters their confidence in this endeavor.

Insomniac's ambition aligns perfectly with Sony's proven success in translating video games into compelling film and television content. Recent successes include the 2022 Uncharted film and the 2023 The Last of Us series. Further solidifying their commitment, Sony unveiled additional projects at CES 2025, including:
