Marvel Rivals Season 1: Mastering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals explodes onto the scene with new characters, maps, and modes, including a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with freebies like a Thor skin. This guide focuses on unlocking Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

Understanding Recursive Destruction

The initial challenge in the "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" section requires triggering Recursive Destruction. This mechanic involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects that then reappear in their original state. Don't waste time randomly shooting; identifying the correct targets is key.

Locating Destructible Objects

To find these objects, utilize Chrono Vision (activated via the "B" key on PC and the right D-pad button on consoles). Only objects highlighted in red can trigger Recursive Destruction.

Completing the Midtown Challenge

This challenge specifically requires playing Quick Match (Midtown). After loading in, focus on the initial team objective around the Fantasticar. Initially, no red-highlighted objects will be present. Wait for the first checkpoint; two buildings will then appear, ready to trigger Recursive Destruction.

While engaging in combat, prioritize destroying these buildings. You might not always witness their reappearance due to the fast-paced action, but several hits should suffice. If you don't achieve three triggers in a single match, simply replay the mode. Once completed, move on to the subsequent challenges featuring Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.

Marvel Rivals is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
