Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Developer Insists 'Everything We Have Talked About Is Still in Development'

Saber Interactive continues to reassure fans that all their previously announced projects are actively in development, despite the lack of updates on high-profile titles like the much-anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. Following the recent reveal of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to social media to reaffirm the studio's commitment to their announced games.

"Saber Interactive stands as one of the largest independent developers globally," Willits stated. "We're diligently working on a diverse array of games across multiple genres. Rest assured, everything we've talked about remains in development. We'll share more details on our upcoming projects when we have exciting news to announce."

The KOTOR remake, announced in 2021, has been a focal point of speculation and concern due to its elusive nature. The project has undergone multiple transitions, seemingly halting and restarting, yet it has not materialized after four years. In April 2024, Saber Interactive's CEO, Matthew Karch, confirmed that the KOTOR project remained with the studio following their separation from Embracer Group and was still in active development.

"It's evident that we are working on this," Karch emphasized at the time. "The project has been widely reported on. What I can say is that the game is alive and well, and we're committed to surpassing consumer expectations."

Willits' recent statement, nearly a year after Karch's comments, reinforces the ongoing development of the KOTOR remake. However, aside from the initial announcement video, no further glimpses of the game have been shared with the public.

Play In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is working on several other titles. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for release in 2025, although specific dates have not yet been announced. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. With the recent addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, fans can look forward to more information on these projects.
