Eight is out, and with it the Young Avengers, making way for Marvel Snap's (Free) latest season! This time, it's a Spider-themed extravaganza! While Bonesaw remains absent (for now!), exciting new cards and locations await. Let's dive in!

This season introduces a game-changing card mechanic: "Activate." Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities can be triggered at any point, bypassing effects that target On Reveal. The Season Pass card perfectly showcases this new mechanic. For a visual introduction to the season, check out the video below:

The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man (4-Cost, 6-Power), boasts an Activate ability that absorbs the lowest-cost card at its location and copies its text. On Reveal effects are re-triggered! Pairing him with Galactus promises chaotic fun. This card's power level might necessitate a nerf, but it's undeniably exciting.

Let's explore the other additions:

  • Silver Sable: (1-Cost, 1-Power) Her On Reveal ability steals two power from the top card of your opponent's deck. A strong card on its own, and even better in specific combinations.

  • Madame Web: Her Ongoing ability lets you move one card at her location to another location once per turn.

  • Arana: (1-Cost, 1-Power) Another Activate card, moving the next card you play to the right and boosting its power by +2. A potential game-changer for move-based decks.

  • Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): (4-Cost, 5-Power) His Activate ability spawns an identical clone at another location. Amplify his power, then duplicate the effect!

The new locations add further strategic depth:

  • Brooklyn Bridge: A classic Spider-Man setting, with the rule that you cannot place cards there on consecutive turns. Strategic placement is key.

  • Otto's Lab: Similar to Otto himself, the next card played here pulls a card from your opponent's hand. Expect unexpected twists!

This season's additions offer exciting new strategic possibilities. The "Activate" mechanic alone promises a fresh gameplay experience. Our September deck guide will be available shortly, providing assistance in navigating this web-slinging challenge.
