World of Warcraft Patch 11.1: New Customizable Character Select Campgrounds
World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 introduces a fresh way to personalize your character selection screen: collectible campsites! Four new scenic backgrounds are available, each with unique unlock criteria, adding a new layer of customization to the Warbands system.
Blizzard has unveiled this exciting feature, allowing players to set multiple campsites for their characters and customize them with names and unlockable art. The new campsites, viewable and unlockable via the Collections pane, offer players a visually appealing alternative to the original Adventurer's Rest background.
Currently available on the WoW Public Test Realm, these four new campsites are: Ohn'ahran Overlook, Cultists' Quay, Freywold Spring, and Gallagio Grand Gallery. Content creators, like MrGM, have already showcased these locations and their acquisition methods.

The Ohn’ahran Overlook is automatically unlocked upon logging in after Patch 11.1. The Cultists’ Quay is earned through the Season 2 Delver’s Journey. Freywold Spring and Gallagio Grand Gallery require completion of the "All That Khaz" and "Racing to a Revolution" meta-achievements, respectively.
The Collections pane now features a dedicated tab for these campsites, allowing for easy preview and unlocking. A new tab on the character select screen itself lets players choose their preferred campsite, or even randomize their selection from favorites.
This expansion of character selection screen customization builds upon the Warbands system introduced in World of Warcraft: The War Within, showcasing Blizzard's ongoing commitment to enhancing player personalization. Future updates promise even more campsites, alongside other collectibles like mounts and pets, potentially sourced from various avenues including new and existing content, holiday events, the Trading Post, and even the in-game shop.
