Bandai Namco has revealed plans to discontinue PAC-MAN Mobile, coinciding with the iconic game’s 45th anniversary celebration. This mobile version, launched over a decade ago, will cease operations.
The shutdown of PAC-MAN Mobile is scheduled for May 30, 2025. In-app purchases were halted as of April 1. Players can continue enjoying the game until the final date.
Fans have voiced frustration over Bandai Namco’s decision to fully terminate the game rather than offering an offline mode. Many believe an offline option would maintain engagement and generate revenue.
Formerly known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, this version went beyond classic arcade gameplay. It featured a Story Mode with unique mazes, alongside the traditional 8-bit arcade experience.
Adventure Mode included limited-time themed events with exclusive skins, while Tournament Mode offered weekly maze challenges across three difficulty levels. The game also provided various customization options for PAC-MAN, ghosts, joysticks, and more.
Persistent bugs and technical issues over recent years have likely contributed to the decision to shut down the game.
In its early days on Android, the game saw significant excitement, with players competing for high scores and leaderboard rankings, creating a vibrant community.
To experience PAC-MAN Mobile one final time before its closure, download it from the Google Play Store.
