Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a treasure trove of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the unveiling of a brand-new map: The Tomb. This January 15th celebration offers a comprehensive blog detailing all the zombie-themed surprises coming soon. Leading the charge is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map debuting with Season 2 on January 28th. This marks another exciting addition to the Zombies universe, hot on the heels of Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

Treyarch's story summary reveals that after the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's final clues to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. Built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., these catacombs remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s... and what lies beneath might be more than anyone imagined.
The Tomb is described as a mysterious location linked to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though further details regarding its connection to the broader Zombies storyline remain scarce. Gameplay-wise, it promises a similar experience to Liberty Falls—the bright, compact map from Black Ops 6's October launch. This translates to tighter play spaces with a strong emphasis on replayability and the discovery of hidden Easter eggs.
Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon, drawing inspiration from past iterations, and the return of a beloved iconic SMG, though specifics are still under wraps. Season 2 also includes highly anticipated quality-of-life improvements, including community-requested features. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode gains a co-op pause option, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game. Season 2 will also separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer, and allow players to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing players have logged over 480 million hours in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
The team stated their goal for Directed Mode was to grow the Zombies community by guiding new players through Main Quests, improving the storyline experience and fostering lifelong Zombies fans. Since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, rising from 3.38% on November 14th to 8.23% currently.
Fans will be eager to hear the voices in The Tomb's launch. Last month, Activision acknowledged the recasting of some beloved Zombies characters due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
