Fresh off the heels of its open beta weekend, *Dune: Awakening* has drawn attention for an unintended gameplay exploit that allows players to stun enemies indefinitely in PvP scenarios. The bug, quickly dubbed the “stunlock exploit,” was uncovered during the game’s Global LAN Party livestream on May 10 and has since sparked discussions among fans and streamers alike.
Players Discover Game-Breaking Stunlock Exploit
Dune: Awakening Open Beta Weekend is Over
The *Dune: Awakening* open beta gave fans a glimpse into the first 20–25 hours of gameplay, along with various features set to be included at launch. However, one unexpected discovery stood out: a PvP exploit that enables players to keep their opponents stunned without end.
This exploit occurs when a player performs rapid knife attacks against an enemy with no remaining stamina. The result? The targeted player becomes locked in a continuous stagger state, unable to defend themselves, use abilities, or even break free. This creates an unfair advantage and severely disrupts balanced combat scenarios.
The issue gained significant visibility during live streams by popular content creators such as Tyler1 and Shroud, who demonstrated the exploit in real-time. Their reactions and gameplay footage helped bring the problem to the forefront, prompting immediate developer response.

Funcom Promises Fix Before Launch
During the same Global LAN Party livestream where the exploit surfaced, developers from Funcom acknowledged the issue and confirmed that it's already under review. World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley assured viewers that a fix is in the works and will be implemented before the game’s official release.
Gagné stated confidently, “We got this covered. It's not like ‘Oh my god, we haven’t thought about it.’ It’s already going away.” With the beta now concluded, the development team has gathered valuable feedback and community insights to help polish the game ahead of launch.

Dune: Awakening is scheduled for release on June 10, 2025, for PC platforms. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are also in development, though exact release dates for those have yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches.
