Marvel Rivals Players Have an Idea to Improve Proficiency Rewards

Marvel Rivals' Reward System Under Fire: Players Demand More Accessible Nameplates

Marvel Rivals players are voicing their discontent with the game's reward system, specifically the difficulty in obtaining nameplates without significant in-app purchases. The issue has sparked a lively debate within the community, highlighting a perceived imbalance in accessibility.

The recent Season 1 update, while adding substantial content including new characters (Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic), hasn't addressed this core concern. While the battle pass offers various customization options like skins, sprays, and emotes, nameplates—a key method for players to personalize their profiles—remain largely inaccessible to free-to-play players. Many nameplates are locked behind paywalls, prompting criticism. Some players even suggest that the currently awarded Lore Banners are aesthetically superior and could be repurposed as nameplate rewards.

A Reddit user, DaPurpleDerpleOf, proposed a straightforward solution: converting Lore Banners into nameplate rewards. This would offer a more attainable path to acquiring these coveted profile identifiers.

The debate extends beyond the battle pass. Marvel Rivals also features a Proficiency system, rewarding players for mastering characters through gameplay. However, players argue that the Proficiency rewards are underwhelming and lack the prestige items, like nameplates, that truly reflect skill and dedication. The addition of nameplates to the Proficiency rewards is seen by many as a logical and necessary improvement. Several players have described this omission as a missed opportunity and a "no-brainer."

With Season 1 extending until mid-April, developers have an opportunity to address this feedback and potentially implement changes that would improve player satisfaction and foster a more inclusive reward structure. The addition of new characters and game modes shouldn't overshadow the need for a fairer and more rewarding system for all players.
