*League of Legends* has launched an exciting new minigame called Demon’s Hand within its client, and it's here to stay until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find yourself right at home with this card game.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
To dive into Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will introduce you to the game's storyline before throwing you into your first round.

Your hand of cards is displayed at the bottom of the screen. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and critical hit chance. Above that is your Sigil box, where you can have up to six active Sigils at a time, starting with none. Note that your health doesn't regenerate after battles; you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to restore a portion of your health.
The enemy card is positioned at the top of the screen, with its health and damage displayed in the bottom right and left corners, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll find an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy attacks. On the left edge of the screen, a book lists all possible attack hands and their base damage for a standard round.

To deal damage, you'll play poker hands, each named differently in Demon’s Hand but following traditional poker rules. The ultimate hand is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here’s a breakdown of the hands you can play:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to base damage, the number value of each card contributes to the total damage. Be aware that if the enemy has a special ability affecting a specific suit, those cards will be crossed out and won't add to the base damage, though you can still use them.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils are crucial for enhancing your gameplay. They're available for purchase during store phases, which are indicated by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies, which you can then spend on Sigils. Each Sigil has a unique ability that you can view by hovering over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils boost the damage of specific hands, like Dyads, while others might grant additional turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.
That's the gist of how to play the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this isn't your cup of tea, perhaps the upcoming April Fools skins in Summoner’s Rift will catch your interest.
