Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but sometimes you need to capture them to collect all their parts. Here's a detailed guide on how to effectively capture monsters and gather the necessary tools for the job.
Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward but requires careful timing and preparation. The key steps include weakening the monster, setting a trap, and using a Tranq item to secure the capture.
First, you need to weaken the monster. Your Palico will alert you when the monster is vulnerable. Other indicators include a skull icon appearing over the monster's icon on your minimap, along with the monster limping or drooling, signaling low HP.
Once the monster is sufficiently weakened, it's time to deploy your trap. You can use either a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap. Place the trap on the ground and lure the monster into it. When the monster steps onto the trap, it will be immobilized for a brief period. This is your opportunity to use Tranq Bombs. Usually, one or two Tranq Bombs are sufficient to capture the monster. Alternatively, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, depending on your weapon and preferred playstyle.
Successfully capturing a monster will conclude the quest and return you to Base Camp.
How to Get Traps and Tranq Items
While your Palico might occasionally set traps for you, it's advisable to bring your own. There are two types of traps available: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Net, which can be made from Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, combine a Trap Tool with a Thunderbug Capacitor.
For Tranq items, crafting a Tranq Bomb requires a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. You can then combine Tranq Bombs with Throwing Knives to create Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to make Tranq Ammo.
