First, you need to unlock this crafting feature. This requires completing the main story, reaching High Rank, and defeating your first Tempered monster. You'll know which one it is—the NPCs will be very vocal about its formidable appearance and scars. After defeating this beast, Gemma will initiate a conversation, introducing you to the world of Artian weapon crafting.
Each weapon type uses three components, and you'll need at least one of each to craft a weapon. But there's more to it than that. Components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus. Only components with matching rarity values can be combined. The weapon's elemental effect is determined by the most prevalent element among your components. For example, two water and one lightning component create a water weapon. Three water components create a stronger water infusion, while three different elements result in no elemental infusion.
The Artian bonus enhances either attack power or affinity (critical hit chance). The choice depends on your preferred playstyle. To craft these weapons, you'll need Artian materials.
How to Obtain Artian Materials in Monster Hunter: World

Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Usually, one or two roam each area after defeating your first Tempered monster. In-game notifications will alert you to their presence; they're easily identifiable on the map by their blue outline.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields Artian parts, found among your post-mission rewards, alongside decorations. The rarity of these parts increases with your Hunter Rank. While there's no direct correlation between the hunted monster and the type of Artian parts dropped, hunt monsters you enjoy or need parts from for other weapons or armor.
