SoMoGa Revamps 16-Bit JRPG Vay for Android

SoMoGa Inc. has released an updated version of the classic 16-bit RPG, Vay, now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. This revamped edition breathes new life into the game with stunning new visuals, an improved user interface, and added controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, Vay was crafted by Hertz and later localized for the US market by Working Designs. Its legacy continued when SoMoGa re-released it on iOS in 2008, keeping the spirit of the game alive.

What’s New in Revamped Vay?

Vay revamped offers an extensive lineup of over 100 enemies and more than a dozen epic bosses. Players can explore over 90 unique areas, each brimming with adventure. One of the standout features is the user-selectable difficulty levels, allowing for a tailored gaming experience.

The game now includes an auto-save feature, ensuring you never lose your progress. It also supports Bluetooth controllers, giving you the freedom to play in your preferred style. As you journey through Vay, you can purchase new gear and items, and as your characters level up, they gain access to new spells. Additionally, an AI system enables characters to battle autonomously, adding depth to the gameplay.

What’s The Story?

Set in a distant galaxy, Vay's narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a massive interstellar war that occurred a millennium ago. A colossal machine, with a malfunctioning guidance system, crashes onto the technologically primitive planet of Vay. Programmed for destruction, this machine unleashes chaos, leaving a trail of devastation.

In Vay, you embark on a quest to rescue your kidnapped wife and potentially save the entire world. On your wedding day, your peaceful kingdom is attacked, and your bride is taken. Your journey spans the world as you strive to halt the destructive war machines.

Vay’s story captivates from the outset, blending nostalgia with fresh elements. Staying true to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio tracks.

Explore the revamped Vay on the Google Play Store, available as a premium title for $5.99. While you're there, don't miss out on our other updates, such as the Loving Reveries Update in Tears Of Themis, where you can unlock love and goodies.
