Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles featuring numerous playable characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines the experience. Players control a single character who progressively unlocks a diverse arsenal. Here's a guide to acquiring each weapon:
Weapon Acquisition Guide
The game starts with a sword. Additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers in various missions. While all nine primary weapons can typically be obtained before completing Chapter 3, the exact timing may vary based on which officers are defeated. For optimal weapon acquisition, follow this guide:
- Sword: Starting weapon.
- Spear: Complete the Battle of Guangyang (Chapter 1). Purchase is required for story progression.
- Gauntlets: Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1). Defeat Zhou Cang.
- Wheels: Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2). Defeat Zhang Ju.
- Podao: Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2). Defeat any officer wielding this weapon.
- Staff: Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2). Defeat the officer within a treasure chamber's secret passage.
- Twin Pike: Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2). Defeat Zhang Liao.
- Lance: Battle of Xu Province. Defeat an officer on the opposing side (Cao Cao or Liu Bei) carrying the lance.
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on your choices.
The final weapon, the halberd, requires defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate after completing the main campaign. This challenging battle rewards players with arguably the game's most powerful weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
