Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, you get to equip two weapons of your choice before diving into an Operation. With six distinct weapon types to choose from, you can tailor your character to perfectly match your playstyle. Mix and match to your heart's content!

Three of these weapons are melee, and three are ranged. Each weapon type offers unique capabilities, especially when charged. All weapons are highly customizable, allowing for extensive build diversity.

Every Weapon Type in *Freedom Wars Remastered*

There are six weapon types in total, obtainable through completing Operations or purchasing from Zakka in The Warren. While you can't choose weapons for your Comrades, you have free rein over your Accessory's loadout. Change your weapons at any time – there's no penalty for frequent switching.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, focusing on single-target damage. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-swinging attacks dealing high damage. Well-placed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air at the end of combos. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks often involve charging through enemies, providing movement and evasion. Charged attacks throw the polearm for significant damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or ranged safety.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high rate of fire compensates. Reduces movement speed.

Your Accessory, unlike your player character, won't need to worry about ammunition when using ranged weapons.
