Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) is shaping up to deliver outstanding performance across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Dive into the details to discover how KCD2 performs on various systems and the settings you can adjust for an optimal gaming experience.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Performance Tested Across All Platforms
Photo-Realistic Look With CryEngine

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) is making waves with its impressive performance on different platforms. Tests and reports confirm that the game runs smoothly on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, offering both 30fps and 60fps options. The PS5 Pro enhances the experience further, leveraging its capabilities to render the game world with superior graphics. KCD2's photo-realistic visuals set it apart, especially since it utilizes CryTek's CryEngine, a choice that distinguishes it from many other games.
Continuing from its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 (KCD1), Warhorse Studios has opted to stick with CryEngine. The familiarity with this engine has allowed the team to refine and enhance features for the sequel. According to PC Gamer, CryEngine's unique approach with old-school rendering focuses on performance, utilizing limited shaders and basic lighting, yet still achieving photo-realistic results. This is largely due to the use of physically based materials and CryEngine’s sparse voxel octree global illumination (SVOGI), which, as noted by Eurogamer, delivers realistic indirect light bounce, enhancing the visual fidelity of elements like torches and metal surfaces.
PlayStation And Xbox Consoles Have 30 FPS and 60 FPS Options

On PS5 and Xbox Series X, players can choose between a fidelity mode at 30fps and 1440p, and a performance mode at 60fps and 1080p. The Xbox Series S, however, is limited to fidelity mode only. Conversely, the PS5 Pro offers a single mode, running at 60fps and 1296p with PSSR upscaling to 4K.
In fidelity mode, the PS5 and Xbox Series X enhance the visual experience with increased foliage and improved shadow rendering across terrains, significantly boosting the quality of outdoor scenes and ambient occlusion. The PS5 Pro takes this a step further, refining all aspects of the fidelity mode, including sharper imagery, enhanced ambient occlusion, and improved object and overall image quality.
Upscaling Is Completely Optional For PC

For PC gamers, KCD2 offers optional upscaling, allowing players to tailor their settings to their hardware. PC Gamer notes that the options for upscaling are limited to FSR and DLSS, with no support for XeSS, sharpening, or frame generation. Despite CryEngine's focus on performance, running KCD2 at 4K with maximum settings can be demanding on GPUs. However, the game's graphics are highly scalable, offering five quality presets—low, medium, high, ultra, and experimental—to help players find the perfect balance for their system.
KCD2 has provided an in-depth guide to help players prepare their systems for the game. This guide covers how to check system specs, detailed requirements for CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage, and other essential pre-game checks.
