Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Remedy aims to be "Europe's Naughty Dog," according to Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley.
Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, explained how this influence shaped Quantum Break and, subsequently, Alan Wake 2. He stated their aspiration to be the European equivalent of the acclaimed studio.
This inspiration is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, praised for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's status as a top European developer.
Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter being one of gaming's most decorated franchises), serves as a benchmark.
Over a year after launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These enhancements include significant PS5 Pro optimizations. A new "Balanced" graphics option combines the best aspects of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also refine Alan Wake 2's graphical settings for smoother frame rates and clearer visuals, alongside minor bug fixes impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
