In the much-anticipated game, *Assassin's Creed Shadows*, players will have the unique opportunity to choose between two protagonists: the skilled female shinobi Naoe and the historical African samurai Yasuke. The inclusion of Yasuke has already generated significant buzz within the gaming community, even before the game's official release.
Concerns have arisen among fans regarding the potential for missing out on crucial content if they decide to focus on one character over the other. Addressing these worries, Jonathan Dumont, the creative director of *Assassin's Creed Shadows*, provided insights into the game's design and his own approach to gameplay.
Dumont shared his balanced playstyle, saying, "I tend to switch between characters fairly evenly. For example, I might spend 3-5 hours with one protagonist, then switch and play another 2-3 hours with the second." However, he reassured players that choosing to focus on a single protagonist won't lead to a significant loss of content. He explained that each character has unique opening sequences and personal story arcs, but the game is crafted to adapt to the player's preferences.
Encouraging players to follow their instincts, Dumont stated, "I don’t believe you’ll miss out on a lot. It really comes down to your personal playstyle. You might think, 'Alright, I’ll see how the game adjusts based on which character I pick.' Each hero has their own unique introductions and dedicated questlines, but the core experience is flexible. You can choose your favorite, and the narrative will adapt accordingly."
This approach ensures that *Assassin's Creed Shadows* offers a rich and adaptable gaming experience, allowing players to engage with the story and gameplay in a way that suits their individual preferences.
