Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Does the Business for Embracer as It Nears 2 Million Copies Sold

Mar 06,2025 Author: Ryan

Embracer Group reports phenomenal success for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, nearing two million units sold within ten days of its February 4th release. The game's initial million-copy milestone was achieved in just one day, demonstrating exceptional market performance across PC (Steam, exceeding 250,000 peak concurrent players), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While precise console player numbers remain undisclosed by platform holders, the overall peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly significantly higher than the Steam figures alone, surpassing the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 players by a considerable margin.

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors highlights the game's strong reception from both players and critics, praising Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver's dedication. He expresses confidence in continued substantial revenue generation over the next few years, citing the game's immersive quality and broad appeal. A comprehensive roadmap includes planned updates and new content throughout the next year to maintain player engagement.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's triumph, Embracer anticipates the release of Killing Floor 3 later in Q1 2025. The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its future titles, including ten triple-A games slated for release over the next three fiscal years (FY2025/26 - FY2027/28). Eight of these projects originate from internal studios, with the remaining two from external partners. FY2025/26 alone will see two triple-A releases towards its close.

Further bolstering Embracer's pipeline are several mid-sized titles, including the Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console launch), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, with additional unannounced mid-sized games also in development.

Despite recent challenges including staff reductions and studio divestments (notably Gearbox and Saber Interactive), Embracer retains key properties such as 4A Games, currently developing a new installment in the Metro series.
