NBA 2K25 has released its first major update of the new year, setting the stage for Season 4, which is slated to launch on January 10. This update not only addresses general issues and enhances gameplay but also introduces player likeness updates, court adjustments, and refinements across various NBA 2K25 modes.
Since its release in September 2024, NBA 2K25 has been celebrated for its new features such as ray tracing technology in The City mode and the return of the Auction House. The game has been continuously updated, with Patch 3.0 previously delivering gameplay fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and fresh content to keep players engaged.
The latest update for NBA 2K25 prepares for Season 4 while tackling various issues across its modes. Key enhancements include fixing a rare hang in Play Now Online, correcting player rankings on leaderboards, and updating team-specific details like the logo scale on the Los Angeles Clippers court and sponsor patches on several team uniforms. Additionally, the Emirates NBA Cup court has been refined for accuracy, and several NBA 2K25 players and coaches, including Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid, have received updates to their in-game appearances, boosting visual fidelity.
NBA 2K25 Patch 4.0: Major Gameplay Enhancements
Patch 4.0 focuses on gameplay improvements to increase realism and control. "Light Pressure" coverage has now been divided into three distinct bands: Weak, Moderate, and Strong, providing players with more detailed shot feedback. The interaction between the ball and rim has been fine-tuned to minimize excessively long rebounds. Defensive mechanics have been updated to prevent trailing defenders from unfairly disrupting skill dunks, and the Offensive 3 Seconds rule has been added for 1v1 Proving Grounds. Performance and stability updates have also been made to NBA 2K25's City and Pro-Am modes, ensuring smoother gameplay and transitions.
In MyCAREER, progression issues have been addressed, with adjustments to ensure proper badge unlocks and prevent scheduled NBA Cup games from being skipped. MyTEAM has seen visual updates to player cards and menus, along with fixes for issues like saving Favorite Plays and progress blockers during challenges. Stability improvements have been implemented for MyNBA, MyNBA Online, and The W, addressing issues such as NBA Cup simulation problems and league contraction when using the Start Today feature. These updates demonstrate the developers' ongoing commitment to enhancing the game and delivering an engaging experience.
