According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has triumphantly passed the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This milestone marks a significant step forward, confirming the game's progression and exciting fans eager for its release. With an estimated budget of 50 million euros, Control 2 will be self-published by Remedy and is set to launch on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two other projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the preparation phase, but they have now advanced to the next stage of development. FBC: Firebreak comes with a budget of 30 million euros and will be accessible on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, alongside availability on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The remakes of Max Payne 1+2, although their budget remains undisclosed, are confirmed to be AAA-level games, with development and marketing fully funded by Rockstar Games.
However, the project Kestrel, previously developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's lineup. It was canceled in May of last year, shifting the studio's focus to other promising ventures.
All these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already demonstrated its prowess in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles. This engine's continued use underscores Remedy's commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences.
