Bouncing Blades Kill Campers Outside Map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

May 05,2025 Author: Benjamin

In the thrilling realm of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 competitive multiplayer, players are constantly pushing the boundaries with their final kills, and few are as spectacular as the one executed by player kev99gh. The Ricochet Blades, a unique ammunition type for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon, were introduced during the contentious Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event last month. Known colloquially as "pizzas" within the community, these blades have garnered attention due to their unpredictable bouncing trajectories.

Kev99gh's incredible final kill in a round of hardcore Search and Destroy on the Lowtown map has captured the community's imagination. The player masterfully bounced a Ricochet Blade out of the map and back inside, securing a one-hit kill on an enemy who peeked out a window at the wrong moment. The clip, titled "Longest ricochet blade ever. Bounced a pizza out of the map. Final kill cam," was shared by Redditor SpawnTubing on the blackops6 subreddit.

What makes kev99gh's kill stand out is the sheer distance the blade traveled, bouncing outside the map before re-entering for the kill. The video shows kev99gh carefully lining up the shot from behind cover and then using the overhead map view to track the blade's path along the map's edge before it ricocheted back through the window.

Such elaborate and seemingly improbable trick shots with the Ricochet Blades are not just a matter of luck. According to SpawnTubing, players in Black Ops 6 actively seek out and practice against common camping spots. Commenters on the clip have praised the impeccable timing of the enemy's peek, which coincided perfectly with the "pizza's" return.

The Ricochet Blades have ignited a bounce kill meta within Black Ops 6, with various impressive kills being shared across different Multiplayer maps. For instance, another clip shared by SpawnTubing shows a blade ricocheting multiple times around the Subsonic map before securing a final kill.

However, not all players are thrilled with the Ricochet Blades. Some find them frustrating and annoying to play against, and these critics will likely be further displeased with recent updates from developer Treyarch. The studio recently buffed the Ricochet Blades' physics and bouncing speeds, ensuring they now deliver one-hit kills upon contact. The relevant patch notes are as follows:

D1.3 SectorOur initial design for the D1.3 Sector Ricochet Blades revolved around quickly launching many high-speed blades, meant to perform best blind firing into enclosed spaces. We have been following your feedback and agree that, in practice, the use cases for this ammo type are too low. The Ricochet Blades will now do 100 damage to enable one-hit kills, and to compensate we are lowering the fire rate and projectile speed. We think the popularity of this ammo type will see some new interest with these changes and look forward to seeing more of your cross-map killcams in MP.

Ricochet Blades

  • Increased damage from 75 to 100.
  • Decreased rate of fire.
  • Decreased projectile velocity.
  • Improved bouncing speeds and physics.

With these changes, the dominance of the Ricochet Blades is set to escalate further, especially as Season 3 approaches and the much-anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone looms on the horizon.
